TOWN OF ALTON

A Regular Meeting of the Township Trustees of the Town of Alton, Illinois was held on the above date in the City Council Chambers, City Hall Building, at the hour of 6:00 P.M.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Bohart and on Call of Roll, the following members were present or absent.
PRESENT: Bohn, Pfister, Brown, Meehan, Ford – 5
ABSENT: Velloff, Elliott—2
Also, in attendance was Alton Township Attorney, Matt Kelly.
Mr. Meehan made a motion, seconded by Mrs. Ford, that the said minutes of the regular meeting of August 26, 2026 be approved. The motion passed by the following vote:
AYES: Bohn, Pfister, Brown, Meehan, Ford – 5
NAYS: None – 0
ABSENT: Velloff, Elliott—2
Chairman Bohart presented the Monthly Report for August 2026, (All Funds): Town Fund in the amount of $786,760.79; General Assistance Fund in the amount of $137,464.25; Social Security Fund in the amount of $49,174.75; Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund in the amount of $90,063.93; Town Savings Fund in the amount of $207,083.49. Mrs. Brown made a motion, seconded by Mrs. Pfister that the Monthly Report be approved and placed on file. The motion passed by the following vote:
AYES: Bohn, Pfister, Brown, Meehan, Ford – 5
NAYS: None – 0
ABSENT: Velloff, Elliott—2
Chairman Bohart presented the Audit Report for Fiscal Year 2025/2026. Mrs. Brown
made a motion, seconded by Mr. Meehan that the said Audit Report be approved and placed on file. The motion passed by the following vote:
AYES: Bohn, Pfister, Brown, Meehan, Ford – 5
NAYS: None – 0
ABSENT: Velloff, Elliott—2
Chairman Bohart presented the Report and Listing of Bills for Payment and Action by Board; General Assistance Fund in the amount of $6,762.17; Town Fund in the amount of $14,206.40; Social Security fund in the amount of $1,135.04; Mrs. Brown made a motion, seconded by Mrs. Ford, that the said Bill Listing be approved. The motion passed by the following vote:
AYES: Bohn, Pfister, Brown, Meehan, Ford – 5
NAYS: None – 0
ABSENT: Velloff, Elliott—2
There being no further business to come before the Board of Trustees at this time, Mrs. Brown made a motion, seconded by Mr. Meehan, that said meeting adjourn. The motion passed by the following vote:
AYES: Bohn, Pfister, Brown, Meehan, Ford – 5
NAYS: None – 0

In observance of Labor Day, the Alton Township office will be closed for business Monday, September 7th, 2026. The office will reopen for regular business hours on Tuesday, September 8th, 2026.
