TOWN OF ALTON

A Regular Meeting of the Township Trustees of the Town of Alton, Illinois was held on the above date in the City Council Chambers, City Hall Building, at the hour of 6:00 P.M.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Bohart and on Call of Roll, the following members were present or absent:
PRESENT: Allen, MacAfee, Strebel, Brown, Meehan, Elliott, Gan – 7
ABSENT: – 0
Mr. Meehan made a motion, seconded by Mrs. Brown, that the minutes of the regular meeting of January 22, 2025 be approved. The motion passed by the following vote:
AYES: Allen, MacAfee, Strebel, Brown, Meehan, Elliott, Gan – 7
NAYS: None – 0
Chairman Bohart presented the Monthly Report for January 2025, (All Funds): Town Fund in the amount of $961,022.38; General Assistance Fund in the amount of $177,411.46; Social Security Fund in the amount of $67,532.10; Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund in the amount of $86,812.62; Town Savings Fund in the amount of $202,904.83. Mrs. MacAfee made a motion, seconded by Mr. Gan that the Monthly Report be approved and placed on file. The motion passed by the following vote:
AYES: Allen, MacAfee, Strebel, Brown, Meehan, Elliott, Gan – 7
NAYS: None – 0
Chairman Bohart presented the Report and Listing of Bills for Payment and Action by Board; General Assistance Fund in the amount of $9,555.75; Town Fund in the amount of $165,815.22; Social Security fund in the amount of $1,149.98. Mrs. Allen made a motion, seconded by Mr. Strebel that the $150,000.00 under the Town Hall Expense regarding Alton Cemetery not be paid and be separated from the Bill Listing. The motion passed by the following vote:
AYES: Allen, MacAfee, Strebel, Brown, Meehan, Elliott, Gan – 7
NAYS: None – 0
Mrs. Brown made a motion, seconded by Mr. Meehan, that remainder of the said Bill Listing be approved. The motion passed by the following vote:
AYES: Allen, MacAfee, Strebel, Brown, Meehan, Elliott, Gan – 7
NAYS: None – 0
During discussion, Chairman Bohart announced she will be having Lyndsey Younger from Park and Recreation come and speak regarding a fitness court in an upcoming meeting.
There being no further business to come before the Board of Trustees at this time, Mr. Meehan a motion, seconded by Mrs. MacAfee that the meeting adjourn. The motion passed by the following vote:
